Big Weekend of Entertainment in Rockingham
City of Rockingham 9 Feb 2024
Date09 February 2024

Settle in for a spectacular weekend of entertainment on 17 and 18 February, as two of the City of Rockingham’s most loved annual events return to the Village Green for 2024. With Symphony on the Green on the Saturday evening and the magical Performance in the Park (The Little Mermaid) on the Sunday evening, this is a weekend not to be missed.

On Saturday 17 February, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) and conductor Jen Winley will present a magical night of entertainment at the City of Rockingham’s Symphony on the Green. With family entertainment starting at 5.30pm, and the main act from 7pm, this event offers visitors the chance to enjoy an evening filled with classical and film favourites, plus musical surprises and superstar solo vocalists Solomon Pitt and Melissa Erpen.

On Sunday 18 February come back to the Village Green to join Ariel, Prince Eric, Ursula the sea witch and Sebastian the crab as they make a splash presenting a magical outdoor theatre performance of The Little Mermaid. Meet a Mermaid and enjoy some of your favourite songs from the fairy tale during the preshow entertainment beginning at 5pm.

“With two of the City’s most popular summer series events staged back to back on the Village Green, event goers are in for an amazing weekend of superb musical performances,” Mayor Hamblin said.

Kicking off the weekend with the stunning orchestral notes of Symphony on the Green, and closing it out with the snappy chatter of Sebastian the Crab in the Little Mermaid’s Performance in the Park, it’s going to be a fabulous weekend of free entertainment.  So pack a picnic, bring something comfortable to sit on, and enjoy.

These events are part of the City’s free and family-friendly Summer Series, and visitors to these events are encouraged not to smoke, vape or drink alcohol.

Both of these performances are suitable for people of all ages and tickets are not required. Visit rockingham.wa.gov.au/foreshoreparking to learn more about parking near the Village Green.
