This January 2024 school holidays at the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility consisted of lots of different fun crafts, board games and movies.

The kids of Kambalda who attended our holiday sessions, had so much fun making a range of different things, from hand decorated puppets, 3D horses to colorful hanging butterflies.

They really enjoyed creating custom wall hangings using pop sticks, colored textas and colorful yarn to design a unique wall hanging.

Attendees couldn’t wait to show their families and hang them up in their family home once they finished making them. They were proud as punch with their finished designs.

On one of the cooler mornings among all those hot days that we had, we ventured off outside into the bush. The children hand selected some small sized rocks to add to their very own muslin bag to make a game of tic-tac-toe, which they got to personalize themselves. Once completed they enjoyed versing each other in a few rounds.

Colorful paint brought their creative side out as they painted a large set of Jenga blocks.

Towards the end of our holiday activities the kids enjoyed watching a movie in the afternoon with some delicious buttery and salted popcorn. Which they excitedly watched pop before eating it all up while watching a movie under the nice cool aircon.

All in all, it’s safe to say that the kids enjoyed the holiday activities they participated in at the Kambalda Public Library during January 2024 school holidays, we look forward to the next lot of school holidays to create some more artsy crafty things, play some more games and keep the children entertained.
