Queer Comedy 8.30pm, 14 + 15 Jan | Fremantle Comedy Factory | $22

A comedy show packed with more laughs than colours in the rainbow, for the first time ever Queer Comedy Showcase is coming to FRINGE WORLD! Featuring new lineups of beloved local, interstate, and international queer comedians. Five acts go in and by the end of the show you'll come out!

A Pair of Jokers 7pm, 14 + 15 Jan | Fremantle Comedy Factory | $15–$18

Pairing up for the first time, Perth comedy crowd favourites Haydn & David Tuffley are going all in. Two comedians, one microphone, one at a time. Stacked with more punches than a deck has cards, this show promises to be a full house.

You Are 8.30pm, 14–16 Jan | Ground Floor Gallery Space at PS ART SPACE| $25

'YOU ARE' is a dark ritual of devotion through self-sacrifice. Inspired by the intense dedication present in the rituals of many spiritual and religious practices, this performance explores the idea of what the body and mind must go through to persevere through pain and exhaustion—pay witness to the ceremony, as a body is pushed to extreme limits to reach ascension, enlightenment, and connection.

Feisty. Alternative. Inclusive. Burlesque. Feisty Fringe goers and party gremlins from across the beautiful Whadjuk Region, strap yourselves in, take a deep breath, and brace yourselves for the FRINGE WORLD Variety Show presented by Basement Burlesque. With acts too bold for light of day, Coming Out of the Den brings you a taste of what dwells in the dark corners of imagination. Pirates!! 10.30am, 19 + 20 Jan | 2.30pm, 21–23 Jan | WA Shipwrecks Museum | Pay artist at show

Ahoy there! For family Fringe fun, head to Freo’s own WA Shipwrecks Museum for this interactive performance with treasure to find, swords to fight and lots of laughs to be had. Yaharrr!

The Velvet Playboys Orchestra—The Big Sound from New Orleans to Las Vegas featuring Adam Hall 9pm, 20–22 Jan | Freo.Social | $36–$41

Come down to Freo.Social for the world premiere of the Velvet Playboys Orchestra. This full 14-piece band will swing the night away with a classic repertoire inspired by Harry Connick and Frank Sinatra to Jackie Wilson and Chuck Berry. This is a night not to miss with, plenty of space for dancing and cocktail tables to enjoy every vantage point.

Funked Up Brass—A Dance Party through the Decades! 9pm, 20–22 Jan | Freo.Social | $39

Dance your way through the decades as Funked Up Brass rewind time to play you the biggest hits since 1920! Jump aboard the groove train for an hour of power, roaring through the 20s, stopping off at funky town, pit-stopping at the Hard Rock Cafe, crossing tracks with the soul train, and grinding to a halt in the noughties we know and love!

Jacques Barrett— I Just Turned 40 So Obviously Here's a Show About WW2 7pm, 22 Jan | Comedy Shack Fremantle | $30

His 12th year as a professional world-conquering headliner, Jacques Barrett is at the top of his game: ageing like wine, eating too much cheese. Known for his ability to adapt to any crowd and throw relentless and consistently sharp comedy blows, Jacques is a bonafide international headliner.

AUFBRUCHSGEISTER | DEPARTING MINDS 8.30–10pm, 27–30 Jan | Old Customs House and Theatre at DADAA | $21–$42

Surreal, poetic, and immersive, this performance explores topics of racism, stigmatisation, and breaking boundaries. With video projection, live sound composition, movement, and text this art performance will make audiences face close-up vulnerability whilst raising important issues.

Killing Rove 8.30pm, 27–30 Jan | Theatre at DADAA | $17.50–$25

Killing Rove is the new show from Patrick Marlborough, seeking to answer the eternal question: what the!?!? Watch Patrick as they examine Australian comedy and the cultural stagnation which has gripped us since the early-2000s, while also examining the extremes of bipolar mania, delusional obsession, and autistic thought.

Under Cover Big Band Rocks The Fest 7.45pm, 28 Jan | SONAR Room | $25–$30

This 14-piece band are providing the grooves with 50–80s rock and rock and roll, with segments from the Beatles, Elvis, and the Blues Brothers. Come down for a boogie and a sing.

Comedy Groups Motherhood Comedy and Dads! come together to present PARENTHOOD: a show about parenting, relationships, and the ups—but mostly downs— of life. As relatable as it is funny, you don’t want to miss this act.

Adrian Alaberg: Living the Stream 7pm, 2–4 Feb | Freemasons at the Sail & Anchor | $25

This comedian weatherman takes you on a journey into a world of spontaneous chaos and ‘choose your own adventure’. His witty and energetic comedy style has seen him hosting national television and sending his viral videos into the millions of views. In Living the Stream, the internet collides with the real world in this first-of-its-kind interactive comedy variety show

The Nasty Show 8.30pm, 4 + 5 Feb | Fremantle Comedy Factory |$25

Back for its 6th year of sell out shows, this worldwide smash hit returns to the city where it all began. Created by comedian & producer Jez Watts, The Nasty Show is a comedy showcase featuring a selection of the best comics at the festival, delivering their nastiest material. This showcase is not for the faint-hearted. Lineups vary between shows and are available at here.

The Reject Show 7pm, 4 + 5 Feb | Fremantle Comedy Factory |$20

At 23 years young, comedian Will O'Regan will be presenting his second FRINGE WORLD show. After selling out a couple of shows last year, Will is looking to come back with a show bigger and better than ever. As a child he dreamt of being an AFL footballer, but sadly he is not talented nor tall enough. Head down to the Fremantle Comedy Factory for some light-hearted self-deprecation.

Lineage 7.30pm, 10–12 Feb | DaRawNature Studio Gallery | $45

Lineage offers an innovative and exciting unravelling into themes exploring new age psychology and healing whilst telling the story of repression and shame and allowing the reclamation of self. An interactive, multidisciplinary performance instillation, Lineage uses different feminine archetypes to explore the parental relationship between mother and child as a way to imagine the breaking of the cycles of trauma.

Three Bearded Blokes 7pm, 11 + 12 Feb | Fremantle Comedy Factory | $20

Three Bearded Blokes consists of three Perth stand-up comedy regulars who are experts in deprecating self-analysis, cutting societal observations, sparkling wit, and the occasional Dad joke. With a mixture of comedy, music, and poetry you won’t want to miss these blokes.

Michael Shafer is back in Perth with his critically-acclaimed show that will solve all of the world's most pressing problems. How do we stop COVID? How do we stop climate change? Benny Darsow Letting It Fly 8.30pm, Feb 12 | Comedy Shack Fremantle | $30

Letting It Fly is a fresh, headline-quality observational and improvised standup that will explore dealing with anxiety, clearing debt, caring for family, recovering from chronic injury, and dropping 20kg— all whilst making audiences genuinely laugh out loud. Benny Darsow was Nominated for Best Comedy in 2017 & 2016 Perth FRINGE WORLD for his laugh-out-loud brand of comedy.

British-born lad and Perth honorary, Jon Pinder is a local comedy favourite. Jon is a 96FM Botica’s Bunch regular on Friday mornings and a resident comic at The Comedy Lounge. With a combination of acute observations, incredible impressions and razor-sharp audience banter, ABSOLUTE GEEZER ensures laughs all around.
