Get into the festive spirit with a very Cockburn Christmas event set down for 4.30-8pm, Saturday, 5 December in Cockburn Central.

People of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend Christmas on the Green at Legacy Park, Veterans Parade adjacent to Cockburn ARC, where Santa will make an appearance, along with some yuletide camels available for escorted rides.

Other free activities include making gumnut Christmas decorations with The Wetlands Centre Cockburn, painting festive moulds and decorating Sandcards, face-painting, demos by South Coogee Bush Fire Brigade, the traditional Christmas tree lights switch-on, and food vans will offer a host of options for a family picnic dinner.

MC and Perth media personality Carmen Braidwood will introduce Christmas-inspired performances on stage by Lakeland Senior High School soloists, the Jenelle Russo Studio Singers and soprano Sarah-Susanne of Harmonie Musique. These performances will be AUSLAN interpreted.

With its band of helpful elves, the Synergy Solar on the Move trailer will be on site to help provide an alternative source of power for the event, which will also be carbon neutral.

The City of Cockburn will offset any greenhouse emissions generated by the event with a range of by biodiverse tree plantings in WA’s Wheatbelt region.

This is an accessible event with accessible parking and toilets available.
