Best Decorated Business Competition

The Shire is partnering with the York Business Association to deliver the Best Decorated Business Competition, encouraging local businesses to add decorative interest to their shopfronts or interiors. Finalists will be invited to attend Council’s December meeting where they will be presented with their award, including a perpetual trophy donated by local resident Ron Macey.

This year the Best Decorated Business Competition will also include a public vote award, enabling the community to get involved by voting for their favourite entry and an online registration form to make it a little easier for businesses to nominate.

To enter your business in the Best Decorated Business Competition, use the online entry form here, download the entry form or pop into the Shire Office.

Public voting forms will be available from the Shire Offices.

York Christmas Festival

Council also approved at its August Ordinary meeting sponsorship of $12,750 to the York Christmas Festival Inc to deliver the 2020 York Christmas Festival, Saturday 5 December and Residential Lights Competition.

“This is a fantastic example of how Council is working with business organisations to make projects like this happen”, Cr Smythe said.
