Bin tagging
Shire of Capel 27 Oct 2020

Catch us out and about from Monday 2 November as we start our bin tagging program.

Why are we bin tagging?

Recent audit results showed high levels of contamination throughout our three-bin system.

We want to reduce contamination so less ends up in landfill.

We’re using bin tagging to provide direct feedback and education to households about the contents of their bins.

We will provide you with information about what goes where, so you can be a great sort.

Where are we tagging?

We are bin tagging households on randomly selected streets throughout the Shire.

What should I do?

You can make sure your bins are sorted.

We have a handy A – Z list so you know what goes were.

Types of tags

Thank you – Keep up the good work – there were no contaminants in your bin. One small favour – We collected your bin. We noticed some contaminants in your bin – please remove them for the next collection. Cannot collect – There are too many contaminants – we cannot collect your pin.
