In a continued response to community needs, the Shire’s Margaret River administration office is planned to reopen with limited face to face customer services from Tuesday 28 April.

Shire of Augusta Margaret River Coordinator Revenue and Customer Service, Vicki Scott said although the Office has been closed temporarily, Shire staff have remained busy responding to email and phone enquiries.

“To ensure the safety of the community and staff members, the customer service team have continued providing key services via an alternate service model during the pandemic”, Ms Scott said.

“While we have been taking enquiries by phone we look forward to welcoming customers back into the Shire offices from next Tuesday.

“All Department of Transport Agency transactions will also resume next week.”

As a regional agency for the Department of Transport, the Shire of Augusta Margaret River will recommence providing all DOT licencing services including:

Vehicle registration renewals. Drivers licence renewals. Interstate transfer of vehicles and driver’s licences. Overseas transfer of driver’s licences. Plate changes. Transfer of vehicles (driving or selling). Boat renewals and transfer.

“Limiting the number of customer service work stations and the number of customers in the office at one time will ensure social distancing precautions are undertaken once reopened.”

Face to face customer services will initially be available from the Margaret River office only from Tuesday to Thursday, between 10:00am and 3:00pm. Services provided by the Augusta office are currently under review and hope to open as soon as practically possible.
