Margaret River HEART’s family friendly community open day will see the precinct come to life on Saturday April 4. Community members are encouraged to come along between 4pm and 7pm to experience the venue with an afternoon of free entertainment and activities. Live music, stage performances, art workshops and exhibitions will run in the precinct’s main performing spaces throughout the event, allowing people to venture from space to space in an interactive way. Shire of Augusta Margaret River HEART General Manager Nicky Hansen said the open day will give people the chance to walk through and get to know the building ahead of attending performances and events coming up. “The building has lots to offer and the community open day will be a fun way for people to get involved and find out what’s on,” Ms Hansen said. “We have so many wonderful upcoming events that are guaranteed to keep Margaret River’s heart thumping.” Volunteer Coordinator Rebecca Young will be providing information about the HEART volunteer program on the day for community members wanting to get involved. “Volunteering is a fun and rewarding way to experience events,” Mrs Young said. “It’s a great way to learn new skills, make a difference and become a valued member of Margaret River’s vibrant arts community.” HEART kiosk facilities will be open for the afternoon, with food truck vendors providing a variety of meals to enjoy on the grassed lawns.
