Scam email warning

The Shire of Harvey has become aware of people receiving emails that claim to be from the Shire when they are not.  They will often be asking for payment and can contain a bogus invoice or a link (URL) to pay.

These emails are not generated by the Shire of Harvey and we recommend that they are deleted.  Other organisations are also being affected by this, so everyone needs to be aware and careful when reading an email.  They are a way to spread malicious malware or to scam payment from people.
