(19/12/2019) Still time to get free parking in Freo
City of Fremantle 19 Dec 2019

There are still a few days left to take advantage of the City of Fremantle’s offer of two hours free parking.

The free parking offer is available Monday to Thursday from 9am-4pm until Boxing Day via the City of Fremantle’s PayStay mobile parking app.

Motorists parking with the PayStay app will get the first two hours of parking for free in all City of Fremantle off-street car parks.

People wanting to take advantage of the free parking offer need to download the PayStay app and activate their parking sessions via the app.

The PayStay app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play, or by visiting the PayStay website.

City of Fremantle Director of City Business Glen Dougall said the two hour free parking offer had proven to be very popular with visitors to Fremantle.

“Over the past few weeks we’ve seen a 21 per cent increase in the number of people using the PayStay app to park in City of Fremantle car parks between Monday and Thursday,” Mr Dougall said.

“That suggests that a lot of people have been coming to Fremantle, downloading the app and making the most of the two hours of free parking to do some Christmas shopping or enjoy a festive catch-up with friends.

“The free parking offer extends right through until Boxing Day, so that’s a great reason for people to come down to Freo and grab themselves a bargain at the Boxing Day sales.”

Free Parking Santa will be in Fremantle until Christmas Eve before heading back to the North Pole.

He’ll be spreading Christmas cheer by paying for shoppers parking and handing out lollies to the kids before heading home to oversee final preparations for the big day.

There’s also one more chance to enter the City of Fremantle’s #shopfreo competition.

Just spend $20 in any participating store and ask for your unique code, then go online at visitfremantle.com to enter the codeword for your chance to win $500 to spend in the store.

The final two $500 prizes will be drawn on Monday 23 December.
