Art enthusiasts are invited to join emerging textural painter Carol Seeley at a Meet the Artist event on from 6pm to 7pm on Thursday 26 September at the Margaret River Library. Carol’s ‘An Exploration of Colour and Texture’ exhibition is currently on display in the Library’s Cocoon Gallery, a free space for emerging artists to display works to the public. Shire Library Assistant Ana Brawls says the Meet the Artist event is an opportunity to view and discuss both the current works on display, plus her new works that will form part of a series title ‘A Little Bit of Blue’. “If you haven’t had the opportunity to admire her exhibition at the Cocoon Gallery, the event will provide the perfect chance to enjoy her work while showing support for the emerging artist,” she said. Carol’s love affair with texture began many years ago at a local community sharing centre where she enjoyed pottery classes,” she said. From there she started an arts course at her local TAFE, where pottery and print making were the focus of her interest. Painting for Carol is meditative, emotional and fulfilling and reflects the emotional and physical world around her. The exhibition titled ‘An Exploration of Colour and Texture’ intends to awaken the viewer’s emotions and will be on display at the Library until 30 September 2019. Please RSVP to attend the Meet the Artist event on 9780 5600 before Wednesday 25 September 2019.
