Local Artists Set to Shine During Open Studios Exhibition
City of Rockingham 22 Jul 2019

Artists will work in residence at the Rockingham Arts Centre and will have the chance to engage with the community, display and sell their artwork.

The exhibition will be broken into two fortnightly blocks, with the first taking place from Wednesday 31 July to Sunday 11 August 2019. Artists featured include Anastasia Wright, Terrel Weir and Carol Clitheroe.

Block two will take place from Wednesday 28 August to Sunday 8 September 2019. Vanessa Liebenberg, Penny Rulyancich and Tich Dixon will be the local artists showcased in this block.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged the community to explore the exhibition.

“Our community is home to a number of fantastic emerging artists and the City is delighted to be able to showcase their skills during the Open Studios – Art and Artists Exhibition,” Mayor Sammels said.

“Three artists at a time will be working on their arts practice and will be available for the community to come along to view their works, have a chat, watch them in action and have the opportunity to purchase their artworks.”

Each block of the exhibition will be celebrated with an opening night at the Rockingham Arts Centre. Block one will host an event on Friday 2 August while the opening night for block two will take place on Friday 30 August 2019. Both events will run from 6pm – 8pm.    The Open Studios – Art and Artists Exhibition will also be available to the public from 10am – 3pm during the designated dates.
