2019 Nightfields Program
City of Rockingham 19 Feb 2019

Nightfields is a free sporting program for young people that runs for six sessions and features a variety of sports including AFL, rugby league, and cricket.

In 2019 Nightfields will be held at Warnbro Oval on Swallowtail Parade, with sessions beginning at 3.30pm on 21 February 2019. The program will run each Thursday at the same time, concluding on 28 March 2019. Food and water is provided as part of the program.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged young people to head down to Warnbro Oval and join in the action throughout February and March.

"Nightfields is a fantastic free program that gives young people the opportunity to connect and engage with a number of different sports," Mayor Sammels said.    "Not only do participants get the chance to boost their fitness in a family-friendly environment, they will also have the chance to experience playing new sports and form new friendships."

With one spot remaining for an extra sporting code to get involved with Nightfields, Mayor Sammels encouraged any local sporting groups or coaches to come forward.

"We still have one space remaining for an extra sporting code, so I urge any local coaches or sporting groups that are interested in partnering with the City to register their interest," he said.

"Sporting groups that get involved are able to help young people in the community and also enhance their own clubs’ prospects of increasing membership signups later on in the year."

The 2019 Nightfields Program will be delivered by the City with support from PCYC and Relationships Australia. The City would also like to acknowledge Warnbro Centre for their assistance in providing catering and Woolworths Warnbro for their commitment to provide fruit.
