10 Group Fitness classes will continue to call Arena home
City of Armadale 29 Jan 2019

The City of Armadale's Arena will continue to offer a variety of popular Group Fitness classes to users of the facility once the new Armadale Fitness and Aquatic (AFAC) Centre opens for business.

From Monday 11 March the Arena’s timetable will include 10 of the most attended Group Fitness classes, with the current Thursday Yogalates class transferring to the AFAC. Members have the option of attending either facility as part of their membership.

Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the transfer of Group Fitness classes to AFAC was reconsidered in response to positive feedback received by current members of the Arena.

“A great deal of planning and consideration has been undertaken to ensure our current members will still be able to participate in classes they know and love, with most if not all of the Arena classes replicated in the AFAC timetable.

“AFAC's Group Fitness timetable will be confirmed by the end of February and will offer over 100 classes per week compared to just 28 previously offered at the Arena.

“To ensure a high standard of operation the Group Fitness classes at the Arena and AFAC will follow best practice processes.

“This will include regular monitoring of classes and class attendance to ensure the viability of each class as well as responsible commercial practices to our ratepayers.

“Classes that don't consistently meet minimum attendance requirements, after a nominated period, will be subject to a notice period and removed from the Group Fitness timetable if improved attendance is not shown,” said Mayor Zelones.
