Calling all light artists for Claremont’s ARTTRA | Light Festival
Town of Claremont 7 Dec 2018
ARTTRA | Light Festival will be lighting up Claremont Park again in April 2019 and the call for artists is now open.

Town of Claremont is currently inviting artists and designers who are interested in delivering an artwork installation for the Town's annual creative event.

Town of Claremont Mayor Jock Barker said the ARTTRA event was about using art to transform Claremont. “This will be the second year where the event focuses on light installations to illuminate the trees in our magnificent Claremont Park,” Mayor Barker said.

The series of art projects will be presented in a pop-up gallery exhibition throughout Claremont Park from 5-7 April 2019, with the event running each evening on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.

Mayor Jock Barker said up to 15 artists and designers will be selected.

“The Town is looking for both emerging and experienced artists to create a light based installation to exhibit as part of the weekend festival.”

All chosen artists will be offered a $3,000 artist fee and will go in the competition prize pool of $6000. Applications for expressions of interest close 5pm, 18 January 2019.
