Councillor Column - You're invited to help plan the City's next budget
City of Bayswater 27 Nov 2018

Delivering a budget that balances the needs of an entire community, provides quality services and keeps rates as low as possible is the biggest challenge we face as a Council. In an unprecedented move, the City of Bayswater has totally rethought the way it navigates the budget process by inviting you, the community to let us know how you would spend the 2019/20 operating budget.

It’s easy to get involved, just visit engage.bayswater.wa.gov.au and set to work prioritising all of the City's services using the Budget Allocator Tool. You can choose whether you would increase, decrease or make no change to each of the City's service areas. Would you rather see the City invest more in recreation or more in community events? This is your chance to let us know.

The Budget Allocator Tool will be available until the end of January 2019. Next, a community panel will be formed to deliberate on the budget in more detail. If you would like to be a part of the panel, please register your interest via the Engage Bayswater portal or by contacting the City on 9272 0622. Council will then consider recommendations from the panel in putting together its 2019/20 budget.
