National Volunteer Week - Give a little. Change a lot!

Published on 21 May 2018

Four out of five West Australian’s give their time to volunteer and it doesn’t take much for you to change the quality of someone’s life! You can do your bit for the environment or even develop your own skills and experience while contributing to your local community. See how volunteering is changing lives in our communities.

Bennet Brook Railway

Every weekend, volunteers at Whiteman Park’s Bennet Brook Railway turn back the clock to recreate the glory days of steam and diesel. Get involved as a drives, guides or help in the workshop.

Friends of Emu Lake

Friends of Emu Lake have dedicated their time to protecting one of our most precious assets – urban wetlands! They’re bringing Ballajura’s Emu Lake back to its best and are looking for like-minded individuals to join them.

Orange Sky Laundry

Orange Sky Laundry is making a difference in the Midland community. Their mobile laundry allows users to wash while they wait. They’re located outside Indigo Junction in Midland every Wednesday and would welcome new volunteers.

Bicycles for Humanity

Think globally – act locally! Bicycles for Humanity WA are part of a global movement that uses donated bikes to help alleviate poverty. If you’re handy with a spanner, put the pedal to the metal and volunteer with Bicycles for Humanity.

City of Swan Pop Up Volunteer

Our pop up centres are run by volunteers just like Holly. We have centres in Bullsbrook, Ellenbrook and Ballajura library, as well as our main office at the Old Midland Courthouse in Midland. Why not volunteer to help others volunteer!
