The City of Hobart today confirms that the Mount Wellington Cable Car Company (MWCC) has lodged additional information relating to the Mount Wellington Cable Car proposal.

“As per a request made in July 2019, further information to support the existing Development Application has been submitted today,” Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds said.

The City of Hobart, as the Planning Authority, will now undertake the following process:

The additional information submitted will be reviewed by a panel of external assessment experts to determine whether it satisfies the original request for further information. This review must be completed within 14 days. If the additional information submitted is deemed satisfactory by the Planning Authority, the Development Application will be publicly advertised for a period of between 14 and 28 days, as prescribed by the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act. During this time, any member of the public can make a formal representation either for or against the proposal, to be considered as part of the assessment process. If the additional information submitted is not found to satisfy all components of the request for further information, the proponent will be advised and the process will remain on hold until such time that further information is supplied.

The City of Hobart will provide updates to the public and media as the assessment process progresses.
