Gauging interest in developing Council land in Babinda

Published: 14 Nov 2019

Council is calling for Expressions of Interest for a commercial entity to purchase and develop two parcels of Council freehold land south of the Babinda township.

The potential release of the land for residential development addresses concerns in Council’s Babinda Economic Development Plan that population growth can only be achieved if additional land is identified for development.

An independent study into the need and demand for further residential development in Babinda identified between 44 and 77 new vacant lots would be needed by 2030.
