Council Pop-up Coming to Thorpdale

Baw Baw Shire Council’s first Council pop-up is coming to Thorpdale later this month.

Council pop-up is a new rural outreach program which aims to increase Council’s presence in a range of areas across the municipality, particularly those further from major townships.

Council pop-up is being run as a pilot from April - December this year. Thorpdale has been identified as the first location.

When: 10.00am - 2.00pm on Tuesday 16 April Where: Thorpdale Public Hall, 14 Johnstone Street

Later in the year the program will also travel to Neerim, Willow Grove, Rawson and Longwarry. Residents in these communities and surrounding areas will be able to drop-in and talk with Councillors and members of the Executive team.

The motion to support the program was moved by East Ward Cr Michael Leaney and seconded by East Ward Cr Darren Wallace at the 13 March Council meeting.

This initiative builds other collaborative projects such as the Placemaking Program and Community Hubs Strategy which are led by the community to improve spaces and strengthen connectedness.
