With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, are you on the lookout for the perfect blind date?

Well, Gladstone Regional Libraries have the perfect thing for you!

Keeping in line with the age-old saying, ‘never judge a book by its cover’, libraries across the region will showcase ‘blind date books’ throughout the month of February.

Only giving away a little sneak peek as to what the book is about, Gladstone Region Deputy Mayor Chris Trevor said this is a great way for all community members to take home a book they otherwise might not have ‘had a date with’.

“The books have been wrapped up, with only a little note on them hinting at what the book may be about,” Councillor Trevor said.

“They’ll say things like, ‘take me home if you like mystery’, ‘take me home if you like romance’.

“It’s just a fun way to discover a new book.”

Not the only event taking place during Library Lovers, community members are invited to attend ‘Families Love Reading – and Pizzas!’ – an evening of books and dinner.

The event will be held at 6pm on Valentine’s Day, 14 February, at Gladstone City Library.
