The Burnie Print Prize returns for 2025

Burnie Arts is proud to announce the launch and call out for submissions for the Burnie Print Prize 2025.

Held every two years since 2007, the acquisitive prize returns in 2025 with an increased prize purse and at an exciting time that will see the official reopening of the new Burnie Arts in March 2025, following the completion of a $20 million, two-year redevelopment project.

Following on from the success of the 2023 Print Prize, Burnie Arts looks forward to another record-breaking exhibition to herald a new chapter in celebrating the arts in north-west Tasmania.

Burnie Print Prize 2025 invites printmakers and cross-disciplinary artists living and working in Australia to enter eligible works created in the two years prior to the final submission date of Sunday, 3 November 2024.

Entries will be shortlisted for exhibition by a panel of judges from across Tasmania and will go into the running to win the major prize of $17,000 and have their work join the Burnie Arts collection alongside winners from previous years. There is now a $5,000 prize offered for an emerging artist, and a $1,000 prize selected by exhibition visitors as the people’s choice.

Shortlisted works will go on display in the newly refurbished Art Gallery within Burnie Arts from

14 March until 18 May 2025, and will form a part of both the cultural festival Ten Days on the Island and a series of special celebrations re-launching Burnie Arts after its extensive redevelopment.

Entries are now open and can be made online at: www.burniearts.net
