With wet weather conditions having eased, Redland City Council has closed its additional sandbagging stations at the following locations:

Council Depot, DunwichCouncil Depot, Russell IslandCouncil Depot, Macleay IslandNuway Landscape Supplies, ThornlandsKarragarra Island Fire StationCoochiemudlo Island Fire Station

Council’s permanent stations at Bayview Conservation Area, Redland Bay (6.30am-6pm) and Capalaba Regional Park (6am to 10pm) remain open.

With the Bureau of Meteorology predicting a significant rain event for south-east Queensland, Redland City Council has opened sandbagging stations for the community.

NOTE: Enclosed shoes must be worn at all Council sandbagging stations.

Permanent stations are open at the following locations:

Capalaba Regional Park car park: 13-19 Pittwin Road North, Capalaba. OPEN: 6am to 10pm dailyBayview Conservation Park Staging Area: 487-503 German Church Road, Redland Bay. OPEN: 6.30am to 6pm daily

Council has also opened a temporary station on the mainland at:

Nuway Landscape Supplies: 249 Cleveland-Redland Bay Road, Thornlands – Click here for directions. Six bags per vehicle, with proof of identification/residential location required (i.e. Driver Licence or rates notice). Please follow onsite directions upon entering the landscape yard. OPEN: Today (Thursday) 12pm to 5pm; Friday 6.30am to 5pm; Saturday 6.30am to 5pm; Sunday 8am-3pm

The following 24-hour self-service sandbagging stations are open on the islands:

Please take your own shovel.Lamb Island Rural Fire Station: Please call SES on 132 500 to provide sandbags.

Residents are asked to please reuse any uncontaminated sandbags they have at their property before collecting more.
