Cairns Regional Council advises of the following changes to services due to the Easter, four-day long weekend (Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April).

Council’scustomer service centre at Spence St will be closed from4.30pm on Thursday 28 March and will re-open on Tuesday 2 April.

An after-hours emergency call centre will operate 24 hours a day via the normal customer service number 1300 69 22 47.

Non-urgent matters can be logged at any time via Council’s website or through the free My Cairns app, which can be downloaded to mobile devices from Google Play and the App Store.

There will be no interruptions to kerbside waste and recycling collections. Residential collections will be as per normal schedule on all days, including Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Waste transfer stations are open every day.

The Buy Back Shop at the Portsmith Transfer Station will be closed from Friday 29 March and will reopen on Wednesday 3 April.

All Cairns Libraries branches will be closed Friday 29 March and reopen on Tuesday 2 April.

The Animal Care and Education Centre at 55-57 Links Drive, Woree, will be closed on Friday.

Impounded pets and lost pets can be collected on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from midday to 12.30pm.

There will also be changes to some of Council’s entertainment and cultural venues.

The Court House Gallery will closed on Good Friday, open on Saturday from 10am to 2pm, and be closed Easter Sunday and Monday.

Tanks Arts Centre is closed Good Friday, and open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 2pm.

The Ticketlink customer service desk at Cairns Performing Arts Centre is closed from Good Friday to Easter Monday; online bookings are available from www.ticketlink.com.au.

Public pool operating hours may be affected over the Easter long weekend. Please check directly with venues for up-to-date trading hours.
