Playground equipment at Chantelle Court Park, Capalaba has been destroyed by fire.

Council was notified by Capalaba Police just after 3pm today.

Council officers were quickly on site to ensure the park was safe, with signage and temporary fencing.

This playground equipment has been destroyed by fire.

Chantelle Court Park was completed in 2017.

Council estimates it will cost about $52,300 to replace the playground equipment.

Vandalism disrupts the community’s use and enjoyment of facilities and comes at a significant cost to the community.

Anyone who notices acts of vandalism or arson is urged to report the incident to police, and not intervene.
