Men's night out thanks to the HALT on Tour in Gannawarra

Published on 29 February 2024

Men from throughout the Gannawarra are encouraged to attend a free night of entertainment occurring at Tree Top Scout Camp this March, made possible thanks to flood recovery funding.

The Tree Tops Scout Camp, located between Cohuna and Koondrook, will host the HALT on Tour in Gannawarra event on Friday, 22 March from 6.15pm.

Various activities will occur on the night, highlighted by a barbecue masterclass and presentation from Hope Assistance Local Tradies (HALT) founder, Jeremy Forbes, who will share his powerful tips for men looking out for each other.

“Looking out for each other is important, especially after natural disasters such as the 2022 floods and recent flash flooding,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

“This special event will enable men from throughout the municipality to come together and socialise over a meal made possible thanks to the OMG BBQ meat masterclass.

“Jeremy Forbes’ presentation on the founding of Hope Assistance Local Tradies, a national grass-roots campaign that raises awareness of mental health and supporting each other through tough times, will also be a poignant reminder that we all play a role in ensuring the health of our mates.”

A pop-up Bush Barber stand will also be running on the night, providing the opportunity for a free hair cut.

Attendees will be in the running to win numerous prizes, including a two-litre Yeti insulated drinker, barbecue goods and camp chairs.

Bookings are essential for catering purposes. For more information and to book your spot, please visit www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1186068

HALT will also be visiting male-dominated workplaces across the Gannawarra as part of the tour.

This event is supported by Northern District Community Health, Murray Primary Health Network, Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, and the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments under the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) as part of the Gannawarra Community Flood Recovery Program.
