Burnie City Council 1 Feb 2024

Want to talk about it in person?

Come along to our Community BBQ and Consultation Event - Food and Feedback.

???? Saturday 24 February 2024

⌚ 9.00am to 1.00pm

???? Burnie Waterfront

Last year in 2023, we asked you a lot of questions and gained a lot of insights regarding our community, our city and our region. Now, we want to show you what we have learned, and what we have planned for our collective future.

Come along, learn about our planned growth and give us your feedback. Did we get it right?

Community Consultation Tents:

A strategy that aims to determine the existing housing supply and the future demand and where that housing should be developed.

Come experience an interactive fly through of our vision for the future of our CBD. Help us choose 12 locations for public art and provide your input to the designs

After last years community consultation "Chip In" we have assessed all feedback and have created 3 names for the Cultural Centre. We are inviting the community to choose your favourite name! We will then be creating visual identities that will mirror the communities top choice. It will again go out for consultation later in the year.

Community Educational Tents:

FOGO - Let's get ready to FOGO!

The team at Dulverton Waste Management will be in town to help educate the community on the FOGO process. All of the What, When's and How's.

With the launch of the updated and rebranded SNAP SEND SOLVE App - the team will be on hand to help you become the best snapper you can be!

Natural Resource - What plant is that?

Councils very own Natural Resource officer Phil, will be along to help educate our community on invasive weeds and problematic plants to help with the protection and survival of our native species.

Marinus Link - The future is Bright for Burnie and Marinus Link!

A new draft report released by the Australian Energy Market Operator again labelled the nationally significant project ‘urgent and actionable’. This means it’s all systems go for the team behind Marinus Link as they edge closer to completing the ‘Design and Approvals’ phase of the project. The future is bright for Burnie and Marinus Link project proudly aligning with the Council’s Making a Better Burnie 2044 Strategic Plan. Be sure to stop by the Marinus Link stall and hear first hand what’s around the corner for Marinus Link. They will also have maps of their proposed Heybridge converter station and perhaps a goodie bag or two to give away!
