Renewal works are currently planned for Factory Dam Park in Smith Street, Millmerran which will improve existing amenities at the popular picnic spot.

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) General Manager Environment and Community Services Nick Hauser said the renewal works will be a well-needed refresh of the current amenities.

“The works will include renewing a personalised paved pathway which has become uneven over time with a new concrete path to improve the safety and usability of the park,” Mr Hauser said.

“The project is proposing to carefully relocate the pavers, which hold sentimental value for the community, to a shaded seating area for reflection and relaxation.

“If the community has any questions or feedback on the project, please make contact by phoning or emailing Council. Feedback closes at 5pm on Friday 23 February 2024.

“Other renewal works in the park will include the replacement of aging skate ramps and a new water bottle filler.

“These works are planned for completion during April and May 2024, weather permitting.”

Any future works will be dependent on funding and Council priorities.
