Media Release – Unsafe Water Levels at Picnic Point Beach and Surrounds
Central Coast Council 19 Dec 2023

Recreational use of water at Picnic Point Beach and Surrounds not advised due to poor water quality.

Central Coast Council advises the community that the recreational use of water at Picnic Point Beach and immediate surrounds in West Ulverstone (such as Legion Park) is not recommended due to poor water quality.

Council conducts weekly testing to determine the safety of water levels for the community. Today’s results determined that conditions are not suitable for recreational use, such as swimming or surfing, due to high levels of bacteria.

Signs have now been erected in the affected areas alerting the community of the restricted sections.  Council will continue to re-test the water levels and will advise the community of when levels have returned to normal and are safe for recreational use again.

For all enquires please contact Central Coast Council’s Environmental Health Group on (03) 6429 8900.
