Regional Assessment Service transitioning to Bendigo Health

Published on 31 August 2023

Gannawarra Shire Council is starting to transition its Regional Assessment Services to Bendigo Health in line with Council’s decision made on 28 June 2023 to withdraw from all aged care and disability services.

As a requirement for elderly residents seeking services through the Commonwealth Home Support Program, contacting My Aged Care to determine the level of assessment required to identify in-home and therapy-based services that best meets their needs, is essential.

“Accessing Regional Assessment Services is an important step for residents needing to complete an aged care assessment for eligibility to entry level supports, such as the Commonwealth Home Support Program, and making referrals for in-home and therapy-based services,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

“Bendigo Health is known across northwestern Victoria for providing Regional Assessment Services for residents, and we look forward to their dedicated employees working with our residents to link them with the best support available.”

Residents who are over 65 years old, or who are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and are over 50 years old, may be eligible for Government subsidised assistance if they need help to do things they used to do.
