Cybersecurity incident - Update #1

A cybersecurity incident has affected Council’s systems.

Specialist cybersecurity experts have flown into Moranbah today from Brisbane to investigate.

Council CEO Jeff Stewart-Harris PSM said on advice from the cybersecurity experts, systems have been locked down to safeguard information as a precaution.

"I want to assure everyone we have the best people on the job," Mr Stewart-Harris said.

"Safeguarding customer and employee information is highly important to us.

"Once we receive information from the specialist team, we will update the community."

Council shares the same concerns as residents and we appreciate everyone's patience.

An update will be shared tomorrow morning.
