Encourage your child to put down the screens and pick up a book these summer holidays.

Hyphen - Wodonga Library Gallery has an exciting summer reading program to encourage children to visit the library to borrow books, magazines, comics or more.

The Big Summer Read runs from December 1 to January 31.

 To get started, download the Beanstack app or visit https://plv.beanstack.org, or visit us at Hyphen.  Visit the library to borrow books, magazines, comics and more.  Read and complete the activities – logging your progress in the Beanstack app  Automatically go in the draw to win some great prizes at the end of January.

While we are on the topic of books, mark Monday, January 10 in your diary and come along to The BIG Book Club at Hyphen from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Come along to our special book chat to share your thoughts on How to Train your Dragon by Cressida Cowell with fun discussions and activities.

Multiple copies of this title are available for loan as an eBook on the Borrow Box app, so make sure to read it before coming along.

Taking part means you will even earn the ‘mark sticker’ in the BIG Summer Read challenge.

Join local music group In the Groove for an interactive drumming workshop on January 18.

Calling all video gamers.

Albury Esports League brings the Mario Kart Championships to Hyphen on Saturday, January 22 from 10.30am to 12.30pm with gamers of any skill level invited to try their luck.

It’s free to register and there are prizes for the top players up for grabs.

Recommended for ages 8 to 16.

Keep your kids reading and come celebrate all things comics with giveaways and artist demonstrations at Hyphen on Sunday, January 16 from 10am to 3pm.

You can even pick up a free comic*.

Choose from a selection of limited edition comic titles and learn more about the comic and digital art medium with our featured artists demonstrating their creative process.

If you are after a cultural experience for the children, head out to Bonegilla Migrant Experience and check out the latest exhibition - As a Child.

The pop-up exhibition features items that children and families brought with them for their journey to Australia.

There will be a station set up for activities - children can draw and pack a small suitcase of what they might take for a move to another country.

When you are looking to tire out the children, take them to one of the city's playgrounds.

Drop into Hyphen - Wodonga Library Gallery on January 7 and get creative with art activities.

Hyphen will host the National Gallery of Victoria's 2022 Kids on Tour, a collaboration with Victorian First Nations artists and NGV exhibitions.

This year’s program is a suite of art-making activities. For children aged 4 years and above and their families.
