Summary of Notice of Intention to Acquire Land

 To:  the owners of the lands listed in the Schedule below.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 239 of the Local Government Act 2009 that at its ordinary meeting held on 17 November 2021, Mareeba Shire Council resolved to give all interested parties notice of the Council’s intention to acquire the lands listed in the Schedule below for overdue rates [and charges] in accordance with Section 149 of the Local Government Regulation 2012.

A summary of the notice of intention to acquire which is dated 31 December 2021 is set out in the Schedule below.

If the overdue rates [and charges] in respect of any of the above lands are not paid in full within 6 months after the date of the notice of intention to acquire the Council may start the procedures for acquiring the land in respect of which the overdue rates [and charges] are not paid.

The Council will end the procedures in the case of any of the lands listed in the amount of the above schedule only where the amount of the overdue rates [and charges] and all expenses the Council incurs in attempting to acquire the land are paid.
