A stellar line-up of entertainment will feature at this year’s Dîner en Rouge event which raises funds for Redlands Coast residents affected by domestic and family violence.

Mayor Karen Williams said the live stage production, themed Musique en Rouge, would feature a night of exceptional entertainment at Redland Performing Arts Centre on 6 November 2021.

“Australian cabaret and theatre performer Luke Kennedy joined The Little Red Company to give a fabulous performance last year so I am very pleased he has returned to headline this year’s event,” Cr Williams said.

Luke Kennedy is one of the performers at this year’s Diner en Rouge fundraiser.

“Luke is a former member of Australia’s classical crossover group The Ten Tenors and was a grand finalist on season two of The Voice Australia.

“He will be joined by fellow The Voice alumni Irena Lysiuk who is an incredibly versatile opera singer, musical theatre performer and pop chanteuse, who has worked extensively with Opera Queensland and The Little Red Company.

“Complementing this amazing night of entertainment is Australia’s premier pop-opera group Belladiva, who perform intricate arrangements of best-loved classics.”

Cr Williams said the night would also feature two special guest speakers – domestic and family violence prevention advocate Vanessa Fowler and Queensland Police Assistant Commissioner Brian Codd.

“Vanessa is the sister of the late Allison Baden-Clay, who was tragically killed by her husband in 2012,” she said.

“She is committed to turning her family’s experience into a positive example of making a change within the community.

“Vanessa is co-Chair of the Queensland Government’s Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Council and Chair of the Allison Baden-Clay Foundation.

Vanessa Fowler is one of two special guest speakers at Diner en Rouge.

“Our other speaker, Assistant Commissioner Brian Codd leads the Queensland Police Service Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Command, which was established in March this year.

“He has established a pathway towards a more victim-centric, trauma-informed policing response to domestic and family violence, which will provide better protection for vulnerable members of our community.”

Dîner en Rouge will also include silent auctions and raffles, with all proceeds going to domestic and family violence support services on Redlands Coast.
