Celebrating Macedon Ranges Seniors

Published on 30 September 2021

The Victorian Seniors Festival Reimagined is back in 2021 and to celebrate, Macedon Ranges Shire Council will deliver 'celebration boxes' to 30 older residents who have made significant contributions to the Macedon Ranges community.

Council’s Acting Director Corporate and Community, Gina Lyons, said this year’s festival theme of ‘keep’n on’ recognises the resilience of older people and the many different ways they contribute to our community.

“This is our opportunity to say thanks and celebrate the wealth of local knowledge and wisdom in the Macedon Ranges.

“If you know an older person in the shire who has gone above and beyond, make sure you nominate them today,” she said.

Residents of the Macedon Ranges Shire aged over 65 (or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged over 50) are eligible to be nominated.

Nominees will be considered on the basis of their contribution to the local community, how they demonstrate active ageing and promote a positive image of older people.

Nominations are open until Sunday 10 October 2021.

To submit a nomination, visit our Seniors Festival webpage or call 5422 0333.
