It gives me great pleasure to formally recognise the incredible achievements of two Isaac women.

It gives me great pleasure to formally recognise the incredible achievements of two Isaac women.

Beryl Nielsen has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division and Crystal-Rose Paul has received an Order of Australia Association Secondary Schools Citizenship Award.

Beryl’s work through the John and Beryl Nielsen Winchester Foundation has helped support regional children from all over the Isaac on their education pathways. Her Foundation provides ongoing programs that support distance education opportunities across the region.

Dysart’s Crystal-Rose is a high-achieving marvel through her academic, sporting and community work. A School Captain for 2021, Crystal-Rose has received numerous academic awards and was named the Isaac Region’s 2021 Young Citizen of the Year.

The work and dedication of these two women is nothing short of an inspiration and the embodiment of the pure people power that drives our region. They show us that even small communities in central Queensland have so much to offer for anyone who reaches for it.

While Beryl and Crystal-Rose are generations apart, their passion and hard work links them to thousands of others over the decades who have also made remarkable contributions to Australia.

Congratulations Beryl Nielsen OAM and Crystal-Rose Paul.
