Gannawarra Shire Council ratepayers will begin to receive their rates notices for 2021/22 from next week.
Included within the rates notices will be an informational brochure outlining the valuation objections process, rates calculations, dates for rate payments, and Rates Relief and the COVID-19 Hardship support.
“Rates payments from across the municipality support Council to be able to maintain community assets, deliver projects, and continually provide services that support the needs of residents and visitors to the area,” said Chief Executive Officer Tom O’Reilly.
Ratepayers can pay their rates in full or by installments using one of the following payment options:
Online via BPay, BPay View, or Post Billpay; Telephone and internet banking; In-store at any Australia Post branch; By mail; and Visiting Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang when they reopen following the easing of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.“To support a more sustainable future, rate notice recipients can also choose to receive their rate notices by email,” Mr. O’Reilly said.
“In choosing to have rate notices emailed, not only will the environment be benefiting, but ratepayers will also be able to receive their rate notices faster, and be able to print, save and access them anytime from their device.”
Residents can find further information on how to sign up to receiving rate notices by email in this year’s rates brochure.
In paying their rates, ratepayers may choose between two options, to pay their rates in full, with payment due by 15 February 2022, or through smaller instalments, with the first instalment payment due by 30 September 2021.”
Ratepayers experiencing financial hardship, including people impacted by COVID-19, are encouraged to contact Council early to make suitable and mutually acceptable arrangements.
