Community views sought on Hobart’s future

Hobart residents are being asked what matters to them and how well the City of Hobart is performing.

Over the next two weeks, researchers will call up to 500 local residents as part of the City of Hobart’s annual Community Satisfaction Survey.

“The survey will help us understand what we are doing well, how we can improve and what is important to our community,” said City of Hobart CEO Kelly Grigsby.

“I am absolutely determined to ensure City of Hobart is responsive to the needs of our community,” said Ms Grigsby, who took on the role of CEO in May this year.

“Working with the community, we will ensure Hobart takes its place as a vibrant capital city while embracing opportunities and delivering on our Community Vision.”

Survey participants will be randomly selected from across Hobart and contacted by phone by independent social research agency, Metropolis Research.

The phone interviews, which start this week, will last about 15 minutes and take place during early evenings on weekdays and between 10am and 5pm on weekends.

Ms Grigsby said the information collected through the survey would help City of Hobart plan its future work to best support the Hobart community and its aspirations.

The survey will explore community satisfaction with the services provided by the Council as well as its decision-making and responsiveness. It will also identify issues of community importance to help inform the City’s activities and planning.
