Community Grants Program round opening soon

Posted on July 7, 2021

Central Highlands Regional Council’s second round of the Community Grants Program is opening on 16 July 2021.

A successful grant application in 2020 has helped Tieri’s Possums Playgroup realise its vision to get children of all ages to play outside every day.

Possums Playgroup Coordinator Donna Bennett said the online application process took a couple of days with support from Playgroup Queensland.

Mayor Kerry Hayes said the grants are an opportunity for applicants to build their capacity and provide value to the community.

‘Our annual Community Grants Program recognises our community groups, clubs and not-for-profits and helps them to develop their capacity and bring innovative programs and activities to the community,’ Mayor Hayes said.

‘The program sees a variety of events and projects delivered across our region each year, including sports events, cultural exhibitions and workshops, education and training and much more.’

‘I encourage groups to plan their grant application early,’ Mayor Hayes said.

‘Read the guidelines, plan your project and importantly contact the council with questions about your applications to ensure it meets the guidelines and to give it every chance of success.’
