If you’re moving house, clearing out the shed, or just want to make your home safer, then Detox Your Home Day is a great way to dispose of dangerous chemicals for free.

Ararat Rural City Council are again partnering with Sustainability Victoria to deliver Detox Your Home Day.

“Household chemicals can be dangerous if left around the home – posing risks to children and pets,” Ararat Rural City Council, CEO Dr Tim Harrison said.

“Detox Your Home Day is a free and convenient service for householders (only) to safely dispose of unwanted toxic chemicals stored around the home.

“Toxic household chemicals, such as cleaning products, pool chemicals, pesticides, weed killer, and garage item such as kerosene and brake fluid can be safely disposed of for free.

“In addition to the harm these items pose to family members, they can also add extra fuel to a house fire.”
