See off-the-wall stunts and acrobatics in Splash Test Dummies at MAC

Armed with pool noodles, a giant beach ball and a huge bubble machine, the Splash Test Dummies will spring into action at Mildura Arts Centre (MAC) next month.

Comprising Jack Coleman, Simon Wright and Isaac Salter, the Dummies are three highly-skilled circus performers who showcase a stunning array of jaw-dropping acrobatics, juggling and stunt-work guaranteed to keep Sunraysia audiences enthralled.

The Dummies are set to visit Mildura on Thursday 15 April as part of their 2021 Victorian tour.

Next month’s visit will see the MAC stage transformed into a volleyball court, beach, bathtub and an underwater paradise, as the circus performers breathe new life into their successful recipe of stunt work, acrobatics, juggling and slapstick comedy.

New to the production will be the inclusion of unicycles, incredible magic tricks and inspiring puppetry.

Councillor for Arts, Culture and Heritage Mark Eckel said while the show was aimed at entertaining audiences, there was a serious side underpinning the performances.

“The Executive Producer, Jamie Bretman, has a background as a youth worker and is passionate about using circus to improve the lives of young people across the country,” Cr Eckel said.

“He believes in expanding young peoples’ imagination through play and audience participation.”

“We don’t talk down to kids, I’m a firm believer in this,” Jamie said.

“We give kids permission to be involved, or not, but to trust us. It’s a really safe space and it’s really interactive.”

The Dummies will perform their 60-minute show at 11am on Thursday 15 April. It will be followed by a workshop at 1pm on the same day, which is open to ages six and over and a great activity to do as a family. Bookings to both the performance and the workshop are essential as there will be no walk-ups on the day.
