Have your say on Council matters online

Residents are now able to learn more about Gannawarra Shire Council’s projects and provide feedback via a new feature on Council’s website.

First used prior to Christmas 2020, the ‘Have Your Say’ section of Council’s website will be a hub for residents to learn about project designs, initiatives, strategies and policies, as well as provide input.

“One of the outcomes of the development of Council’s Community Engagement Strategy 2020-2025 was implementing additional ways the community can engage with Council regarding projects and initiatives,” Gannawarra Shire Council Acting Chief Executive Officer, Stacy Williams said.

“The implementation of a ‘Have Your Say’ platform was highlighted as one of the strategy’s actions, with Council pleased to complete this task ahead of schedule.”

Features of the ‘Have Your Say’ platform include a timeline for each project or initiative listed, latest updates and forums where residents can provide their views.

“Council aims for the ‘Have Your Say’ section to be the first place residents go online for latest information on projects or initiatives, whether it is feedback on a design for a major capital works project or feedback on our annual Draft Budget,” Mrs Williams said.

The ‘Have Your Say’ section is currently being used for three projects or initiatives Council is engaging with the community on – the proposed design of the Cohuna All Abilities Adventure Playground, the proposed design of the Cohuna Waterfront Connection Project and the development of the Gannawarra Shire Council Plan 2021-2025.

“Council looks forward to engaging with the community through the ‘Have Your Say’ platform, which will complement other methods Council uses to engage, such as seeking feedback in-person and via mail,” Mrs Williams said.

The ‘Have Your Say’ section is accessible via the ‘Have Your Say’ tab on Council’s home page or by visiting www.gsc.vic.gov.au/yoursay
