Working for Victoria program supporting employment opportunities

Gannawarra Shire residents currently unemployed or who have experienced a significant reduction in income due to the COVID-19 pandemic are encouraged to consider applying for positions funded by the Victorian Government’s Working for Victoria program.

Council received $355,000 from the State Government to support the creating of eight temporary full-time positions, covering various departments.

“Council is pleased to be supporting the Working for Victoria program, as it has flow-on benefits for both Council and the community,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.

“The program enables Council to build on its work in supporting the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as assisting residents in returning to work, which benefits the Gannawarra’s economy.”

Positions currently open for applications until Wednesday, 27 January are:

Administration Officer, Local Laws Corporate Services Support Officer  OH&S Officer  Outdoor Workers

“These positions will cease as of end of June 2021 and are in addition to current permanent positions at Council,” Mr O’Reilly said.

“Applications can be submitted via the Sidekicker website, which can be accessed via Council’s website.

“Further positions will be advertised via Council’s website and our Gannawarra News fortnightly newsletter.”
