Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is giving residents and visitors the opportunity to win a share of $500 of prizes by entering the Love Your Local Landscapes photography competition.

Photographs entered need to be recent and must feature natural, rural, urban or heritage landscapes within the Toowoomba Region area.

TRC Planning and Development Committee Chair Councillor Megan O’Hara Sullivan said the photography competition was part of Council’s Love Your Local Landscapes project which aims to identify views and vistas that are important to the community.

“The photo competition is a fun and easy way to identify the places we love and understand what makes them special,” Cr O’Hara Sullivan said.

“These places and spaces create a region where we want to work, live, play and stay.

“We want the community to help us identify landscapes that are important, so we can work together to protect or preserve them so they can be enjoyed for years to come.”

Cr O’Hara Sullivan said the competition was open to people of all photographic experience and that individuals can enter as many photos as they like.

“Our Region features diverse places that are loved by the community, from rich natural landscapes to iconic streets and heritage buildings,” Cr O’Hara Sullivan said.

“Council is calling for people to upload photos of their favourite places and tell us why they love that local landscape.

“Each photo will be judged on artistic merit as well as how well the image celebrates the character and identity of our Region.”
