The Heart Foundation recently released a new tool, the Community Walkability Checklist. It’s intended to enable people who walk regularly to make some simple observations and assessments of their local area on its suitability for walking, or ‘walkability’, whether for recreation or transport. 

Adults who meet physical activity guidelines can reduce their risk of heart disease by as much as 35%.1,2   The Council and The Heart Foundation support walking as an effective means of meeting these guidelines.
