Redlands Coast residents will be on star alert for the next two weeks as filming starts on reality television show Holey Moley at Thornlands on 1 October 2020.

Redland City Mayor Karen Williams encouraged the city to extend a warm welcome to the cast and crew, which includes popular presenter Sonia Kruger, Australian Olympian Matt Shirvington, American comedian/actor Rob Riggle and Australian golfer Greg Norman.

“Filming on Holey Moley starts tonight, so if you’re lucky you might spot one of the stars at your local or buying a coffee,” she said.

“Holey Moley will provide an economic boost for our city, with contestants and stars staying in local accommodation during filming.

“Our restaurants and cafes will also benefit.

“Redlands Coast prides itself on being a film-friendly city, and this series provides an excellent opportunity for our naturally wonderful region and community to shine.”

Sonia Kruger will host the show, with Matt Shirvington and Rob Riggle sharing commentary duties. Greg Norman will be resident golf pro of the course.

Eureka Productions is filming Holey Moley at a custom-built miniature golf course at Thornlands and has implemented COVID-safe plans so Redlands Coast residents can be in the audience.

Division 7 Councillor Rowanne McKenzie said she was thrilled that local residents were able to be part of the Holey Moley experience.

“This is an amazing opportunity for local families to take part in a free family-friendly event which is sure to be a lot of fun,” she said.

“Once the series goes to air next year, be sure to tune in and spot you or your friends in the audience.”

There will be two sessions filmed daily over eight days between 1 October 2020 and 10 October 2020.
