Isaac Regional Council would like to provide the following update on the multiple infrastructure replacements and maintenance on pool filtration infrastructure, the 25m heated pool and children’s water park at Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre, Moranbah.

Visit https://www.isaac.qld.gov.au/isaac-aquatic-facilities-1 for more information on operating hours.

POOL FILTRATION INFRASTRUCTURE

The main filtration pump for the 50m Olympic-sized pool has now been replaced.

25M HEATED POOL

The anticipated date for the re-opening of the pool is 30 October 2020. An ongoing issue with filter sand entering the pool has been resolved however the return pipework from the filter to the pool will require high pressure flushing to remove the sand collected in the pipework. The pool heat exchanger will be replaced during early to mid-October following equipment delivery delays due to COVID-19 restrictions. In the meantime, a substantial leak has been repaired, the pool chemical levels are now being normalised and deep cleaning is currently underway. For more information call Council’s Customer Service Centre on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227).

CHILDREN’S WATER PARK

At this time, the park remains closed indefinitely due to safety concerns.

Soft fall maintenance at the water park is ongoing following damage to the surface due to inactivity during the COVID-19 closure. An alternate safety surface is now being investigated for installation.

Council apologises for any current and ongoing inconvenience experienced.

Council thanks the community for their patience. At all times, please remember to adhere to all health and safety directives from Queensland Health. For more information phone Council’s Customer Service Centre available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227).
