LIBRARY FRIDAYS | INDIGENOUS LITERACY DAY To celebrate Indigenous Literacy Day on Wednesday 2 September, the Cooktown Library is hosting an online ZOOM event to officially launch the nursery rhymes that were translated into local Indigenous languages for the First 5 Forever program. The online event will include an acknowledge of Country and reading of the nursery rhymes by Hopevale elder and Guugu Yimithirr translator, Irene Hammett.
