An online survey has been launched this week as part of Council’s and the Livingstone Shire Local Disaster Management Group’s continued commitment to supporting the community during the recovery from COVID-19.

LDMG Chair and Mayor Andy Ireland said the Coronavirus pandemic has seen the world change rapidly and the impacts of this will be long-term.

“While COVID-19 remains an issue and we all need to stay vigilant to prevent the spread, Council is beginning to consider what our community might need in order to recover when the pandemic has passed,” Mayor Ireland said.

“It is essential that recovery plans reflect the needs and wants of the community, so that’s why Council is reaching out to find out what is important to residents and what will assist them in the recovery process.

“This survey will also ask participants about their bushfire preparedness and how the pandemic may have affected their planning.

“Council sincerely appreciates the community’s input into surveys like this, which provide valuable information and insight into how residents are truly feeling during these challenging times.”
