Blackall combined agents yarded a total of 4132 head at the prime and store cattle sale on Thursday.

Cattle were sourced from as far as Alice Springs, Julia Creek, Richmond, Hughenden, Winton, Longreach, Aramac, Barcaldine, Jericho, Isisford, Yaraka, Tambo and Blackall.

Prime cattle were dearer up to 10-15c with heavy feeder steers gaining 15-20c and light weaner steers and heifers remained similar to the previous week.

Bulls under 450kg sold to 258.2c, average 258.2c, and bulls over 450kg made 320.2c, average 299.8c.

Cows 300-400kg sold to 260.2c, average 216.4c, cows 400-500kg made 288.2c, average 265.5c, and cows over 500kg reached 321.2c, to average 283c.
